What is a Product Field?
Product fields streamline your sales workflow by letting sales reps select products at the start of their workflow. These products automatically flow into quotes - no complex quote rules needed. Let's walk through how to set this up.
Basic Setup: Your First Product Field
Start by adding a scaffolding of a workflow:
- A form with a product field for your main offerings
- A quote that captures the selections
- A document to map the quote to
Create Your Product Selection Form
- Create a new form
- Add a product field - we'll use the "preselected" type first
- This lets you add products from your catalog as either:
- Single selection (one product only)
- Multiple selection (several products)
- Pre-selected (all shown products are included)
Example: Smart Home Solution
Let's say you're selling smart home security. Your form might include:
- A subscription selection (single choice)
- Add all subscription options
- Set to "single item selection" since customers need one plan
- Additional services (multiple choice)
- Add service options
- Enable "multiple selection" for add-ons
Connect to Quotes
- Create your quote
- Go to Quotes Data tab
- Map your form fields:
- Map subscription field
- Map services field
- Add document template
- Link your quote to the quote placeholder.
